    3. Introductory Example

    This chapter helps you to become familiar with the most important functions of RFEM 4 by

    using a simple example. As there are so many different ways in RFEM 4 to achieve specific objectives it might make sense to use one or the other, always depending on the situation and the user’s preferences. This example wants to inspire you to discover the possibilities and options of RFEM 4 on your own.

    As an example, a mixed construction of concrete and steel elements is to be modeled. It should be calculated for the load cases with permanent and variable loads as well as imperfections

    according to the linear static and second order analysis.


    The file RFEM-Example-01.rf4 showing the data of the following example can be found in the Examples project that will be created automatically during the installation. However, for the first few steps with RFEM 4 we recommend that you enter the example manually.
