B and D regions
- Strut and tie modelling enables the rational design for the strength limit state of concrete structures in regions of non-linear strain. These are referred to as disturbed or ‘D’ regions.
Regions where strains vary linearly are called Bernoulli or ‘B” regions.
- St Venant’s principle can be used to identify these regions
