POWER IS USELESS WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE

EVEN THOUGH Maximum PC’s official tagline is “Minimum BS,” there’s also an unofficial tagline, sort of like that secret menu at In-N-Out. Call it the old-school tagline, or maybe even the secret handshake, but it is a simple three-word phrase that describes what we’re all about, and it’s simply “Pure PC Power.” We love fancy cases and tricked-out mods as much as the next guy at the LAN party, but what really gets our motor

running is the Powell Doctrine for PCs, which mandates overwhelming force in all

scenarios. We want as many cores as we can have, all clocked as high as their cooling will

allow. The same goes for GPUs, SSDs, and so on. We will never apologize for our ravenous

appetite for power, because in this world of insane PC workloads, 4K gaming and video,

“enough” power is a statement that isn’t in our vocabulary. Just saying, “I think this PC is

powerful enough” in the office is grounds for termination, according to our HR policy.
