Extract coordinates and other sorts of data from DXF files with the help of this easy-to-use application that works independently of AutoCAD. There are situations where you are not directly involved in the technicalities of a process but you are still required to have an overview of its status.

    DXF Works 4.03

In case we are talking about a project relying on a computer-aided drafting program such as AutoCAD, an application such as DXFWorks comes as a complementary solution for users interested in analyzing DXF files without having to install the aforementioned piece of software.

Intuitive GUI that allows you to explore your DXF files
When opening DXFWorks, you are met with a clean user interface allowing you to explore a directory tree in order to easily find the DXF files you want to process.

Once you have selected them, you will see them in a list on the right side of the main window, with options allowing you to choose the output folder for your report along with a suitable file extension.

Lets you extract coordinates and other types of data
The next step you need to take is go to the “Configuration” section, where you can take a look at the DXF entities you want to process. To name a few, you are provided with options such as points, circles, arcs, lines, splines, 3D faces, and blocks.

This is also where you need to navigate in order to specify precisely what data you want to export. Lines numbers, X, Y, and Z coordinates, entity type, layer, and handle, text string, label, and sequential number are just some of them, with the mention that you can easily change the priority of any item in the list.

Enables you to organize data extracted from DXF files
What’s more, the program helps you have data names inserted in your report so that you can easily associate each value with a concept. Plus, for convenience, the field separator type can also be chosen, with options such as comma, semi-colon, and space being close at hand.

Handy tool that works independently of AutoCAD
All in all, DXFWorks is a handy tool helping you extract coordinates and other kinds of information from DXF files without being dependent on AutoCAD.

It allows you to easily create reports comprising strictly the data you are interested in, with configuration options being saved for long-term use in case you consider the said settings relevant.
