Description
In this course, I will explain the full and detailed process of calculating the bending moment capacity of a reinforced concrete beam in the three stages of analysis, elastic, elastoplastic and Plastic.
The course will start with the basics and general concepts of a reinforced concrete section behaviour under different levels of loading and the reason why we use reinforced concrete instead of plain concrete.
You will also learn about the basic concept of the analysis of a concrete section under bending moment and the three stages of analysis, elastic, elastoplastic and Plastic stages which includes explaining the full theory process for each stage of analysis, also, you will learn how to determine different stages of analysis: elastic, elastoplastic and Plastic stages.
We will assess the behaviour of a reinforced concrete section in an elastic stage which includes learning about calculating cracking moment, compression and tension stress in concrete and steel reinforcement and Flexural strength (modulus of rupture). Also, there will be a working example of the analysis of a reinforced concrete section in the elastic stage.
I the next step, we will go through the behaviour of a reinforced concrete section in elastoplastic behaviour and the process to calculate stresses in concrete and steel reinforcement followed by a working example of the analysis of a reinforced concrete section in elastoplastic stage.
Finally, we will assess the behaviour of the reinforced concrete section in plastic behaviour including the process of calculating stresses in concrete and steel reinforcement and also learning about the Whitney stress block with a working example of the analysis of a reinforced concrete section in the plastic stage.
By the end of these two courses, you will learn about the fundamentals and detailed process of the bending moment capacity of a reinforced concrete beam and will be able to check whether a concrete section is in elastic, elastoplastic or plastic stage and then in the next stage, you can calculate the neutral axis, stresses in concrete and steel reinforcement and cracking moment.
My goal is to add value to my students by conveying my knowledge and explaining the theoretical concept behind the design, so please do not hesitate to ask if you ask any questions through the message box here or any other social media links which are provided in our page.
