Release Notes for Autodesk Civil 3D 2021.3.5 - Date: June 7, 2023
Autodesk Civil 3D 2021.3.5 Update fixes the following issues:
Autodesk Batch Save Utility
Fixed an issue in which after installing the Civil 3D 2021.3.4 hotfix the Autodesk Batch Save Utility would not start and a message would be displayed that Civil 3D could not be found on the machine.
Security
This update contains a security update for Autodesk Civil 3D 2021.3.
Note: This security update is also included in an updated version of the Object Enabler, which requires a separate installation. The updated version of the Object Enabler is available on the Plug-Ins tab of supported Autodesk products on Autodesk Accounts or from the Plug-Ins section when creating a custom install for the supported products.
Note: The Civil 3D 2021.3.5 Update includes the fixes in all prior updates to Civil 3D 2021 and can be installed on any prior version of Civil 3D 2021. If you uninstall Civil 3D 2021.3.5, the prior version of Civil 3D 2021 that you had installed will be restored.
Civil 3D software from Autodesk addresses the needs of civil engineering companies involved in standalone and BIM (building information modelling) Civil engineering projects. Built on a familiar AutoCAD platform Civil 3D has been specifically geared to address the challenging needs of civil engineers around the world involved in complex and demanding civil engineering projects such as land development, transportation and even water based engineering projects.
One of the first things Autodesk users look for when a new line of products is released is the backward compatibility. Well, the good news is that you don't have to upgrade all those drawings (before 2018 anyway). Civil 3D 2021 is compatible with all previous versions up to 2018. With Civil 3D 2021, we now have better interoperability with Infraworks as far as corridor modeling is concerned. The collaboration between the two software is truly a two-way street now. Civil 3D 2021 corridor models can be exported back to Infraworks while maintaining all design features. The Export to IMX command allows us to export the Civil 3D 2021 model back to Infraworks without losing any corridor design feature. We now have the capability to bring Bridge design to Civil 3D 2021, which was not possible up to now. Infraworks offer several options to bring bridge design into Civil 3D 2021. In addition to the Infraworks operability, Civil 3D 2021 has some significant in-product improvements. The most important one is probably the Pressure Pipe component. Now in Civil 3D 2021, it is much easier to work with pressure networks, thanks to alignments and profiles. Indeed, we can use alignments and profiles to generate pressure pipes. While the alignment can assign the 2D design, the profile will provide the information of elevation along the alignment. We can, therefore, use the profile editing tools to edit the network, as we would with a profile.
