Key Industrial Equipment Detailed Design in Aspen HYSYS &EDR
Learn detailed hydraulic design of trayed separation column and thermal design of heat exchanger by Aspen HYSYS and EDR
What you'll learn:
Learn the fundamentals of Trayed Separation Column Detailed Hydraulic Design.
Apply Trayed Separation Column Detailed Design in Aspen HYSYS.
Learn the fundamentals of Heat Exchangers Detailed Design.
Apply Heat Exchangers Detailed Design in Aspen EDR (Aspen Exchanger Design and Rating).
Requirements:
Students need to have Aspen software on their laptop/pc to practice.
Basic knowledge about trayed columns and heat exchangers.
Description:
This course teaches you the fundamentals of designing a trayed separation column in detail and check the column's hydraulic performance using Aspen HYSYS. Moreover, you will learn how to do the thermal process design of heat exchangers in detail using Aspen EDR (Aspen Exchanger Design and Rating) software. After completing this course, you will be able to design a new trayed separation column or rate the hydraulic performance of an existing one.
Also, you will be able to design and rate the industrial heat exchangers from process perspective. The optimum use of design software is a key skill of chemical / process Engineering students as well as professionals working on similar fields.
The trayed separation column is the most widely used mass transfer equipment in industry to separation mixtures to almost pure components in oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. The heat exchangers play an important role to heat or cool fluids and deliver them at the optimum temperature for further processing.
A trayed column has to be designed to ensure a good hydraulic performance avoiding operational issues like flooding and weeping. This is achieved by the optimum selection of mainly the column's diameter and tray spacing. Also, the thermal design of heat exchangers needs to be done carefully to ensure the equipment size is minimized while the process performance is met. This course will guide you on how to apply all of these concepts using Aspen design software.
Who this course is for:
A student doing a bachelor's degree in chemical/process engineering.
A[b]professional who wants to learn about designing separation column and heat exchangers in detail.
