Introduction to Blender and 3D Modeling for Beginners
The best starter guide on how to use Blender and learn 3D Modeling by creating a Toy Train and a Chess Set.
What you'll learn:
You will be able to navigate Blender’s interface and move around the viewport with ease.
You will understand the basics of working in a 3D design environment and know the different basic tools Blender has.
You will know how to use primitive shapes and how to manipulate their geometry to create more complex shapes.
You will be able to create your own 3D models following proper techniques.
You will understand the importance of good topology and polygon count.
You will learn five professional 3D modeling techniques and identify in which cases it’s recommended to use each one.
You will learn how to model any hard-surface model from scratch.
You will learn how to create a material and how to assign it to one and more objects.
You will understand how to place a light and a camera to establish a shot.
You will know what rendering is and what are the necessary properties to keep in mind when you export an image.
Requirements:
You need to be able to work with a computer that can run Blender version 2.9 or higher.
You can check the hardware requirements that Blender suggests on their official website.
It's recommended to work with a three-button mouse, but it's not mandatory.
Description:
Want to know how to get started into the world of 3D modeling, animation, games and visual effects?
Create your first professional 3D models using the free and open-source software, Blender. If you’ve ever felt intimidated or overwhelmed about learning a 3D software or if you don’t know how to get started in the world of 3D, this is the right course for you!
Throughout the lessons you will learn all the fundamentals of working with Blender.
We’ll go through navigating the interface and moving around the viewport, you’ll learn the essential tools for working in 3D, I’ll show you the shortcuts you can use and some valuable tips I’ve learned through my own experience with the program, and after we’ve covered all the basic tools, we will work on your very first 3D model.
Our first project will consist of building a toy train with the use of basic shapes and giving it some color.
Then, we will go through more advanced modeling techniques such as Box Modeling, Edge Modeling, Booleans, Curves and Sculpting, as well as essential tools, handy shortcuts, and valuable tips drawn from my professional experience.
Once we've covered all of that, we'll jump into our main project: crafting a complete chess set, piece by piece, using the methods and tools learned. By the end of this course, you'll have a stunning rendered image of the chess set and the skills to create more complex 3D models.
This course will cover Blender’s interface, navigating the viewport, doing transformations on objects, basic and more advanced modeling concepts, a little bit of animation, the creation of simple materials, lighting, and rendering.
Who this course is for:
Anyone who is curious about the world of animation, visual effects and games, and has the desire of learning how to create 3D art with Blender.
Anyone who doesn’t know anything about 3D or is a beginner that’s just starting to know some things about the subject.
Anyone who is a beginner in 3D modeling or is just starting to know some things about the subject of 3D design.
Anyone who has played around with Blender and wants to get more in depth about 3D modeling.
This course is not intended for someone that is proficient with the basics of 3D modeling.
