Engineering Drawings - Learn how to make technical drawings!

Understand and create your own engineering drawings of machine parts – from basic screws to complex gears!

    What you'll learn:
create technical drawings of machine parts yourself (screws, threads, gears, bearings, springs, seals and a lot more)
learn to understand and read engineering drawings
train technical drawings with numerous tasks with sample solutions
master complex technical drawings of combinations of different machine parts
know about common mistakes in technical drawings and how to avoid them
understand the function of all important machine parts
become familiar with standardization (DIN, EN, ISO,...)
reinforce your new skills with quizzes for each topic
use the course summary as your cheatsheet for your next engineering drawing project

    Requirements:
No experience in technical drawings needed. We start from scratch!
Technical knowledge about machine parts is practical but not essential to follow the course.
You should understand basic English. Just so you can follow the lecturer.

    Description:
Want to learn how to create technical drawings? You've come to the right place!Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance or refresh your skills, this course will guide you step-by-step through the process of understanding and creating precise and accurate technical drawings. You'll master the essential techniques needed to bring complex machine parts to life on paper.

By the end, you'll be confident in producing detailed, functional engineering drawings that meet professional engineering standards. For each topic you will go through the following process to ensure that you achieve the best learning results:Course Structure:Step 1: Understanding the machine part's funcionality In the course, you will first be given a basic introduction to the function of the machine elements we are about to draw.

There is no point in drawing something that you don't understand how it is actually working.Step 2: Learn to draw the machine part The machine part is then drawn out in detail so that you can optimally understand the meaning of each line in the technical drawing.Step 3: Draw it yourself by completing exercicesJust watching is easy. Instead you immediately implement what you have learned by making drawing exercices youself! All the tasks shown are available as exercise downloads with sample solutions so you can conveniently print it out and draw yourself!

Step 4: Adressing common mistakes After you have completed the tasks yourself, we will discuss the sample solution together and focus on common mistakes and problems when drawing.Step 5: Learn about industry standards There are standards for pretty much every machine part we are looking into in this course. We don't want to miss the chance and will also briefly discuss them so that you know the most important ones.Step 6: Master the quizzes Finally, there are quizzes on all topics with questions that you can use to test your new knowledge immediately!

We can only recommend that you give it a shot to reinforce your new skilly right away.
Course Topics The following topics are included in the course:Drilled Holes Design Elements Threads Screws Undercuts Grooves Seals Tapers Locking Devices Positioning Aids Shaft-Hub-Connections Bearings Gears Springs Combination of the topics above Additional Material For every topic (= machine part) you will not only find the content mentioned in the "Course Structure" above, but there is also always some additional material waiting for you.

You will be provided with the slides from the videos so that you can quickly look something up without having to watch the whole video. You can also download all the exercises including sample solutions and a cheat sheet with all the important content from the course (to help you with your next technical drawing project) is also available.Lecturer This course is held by Sarah. She used to work in engineering and is now studying to even become a teacher for technical schools for the subjects of mechanical engineering and English at RWTH Aachen, one of the best universities in Germany.

Thus Sarah has impressive know-how and experience about egineering drawings. Plus she has the English skills to teach you properly. It's a perfect match!Good to knowThe entire course is in English, but don't worry! The language is simple and understandable, so basic English is enough for you to follow the course. The course is designed for non-native speakers!

    Who this course is for:
    Engineering Students
    Engineers
Anyone on shop-floor-level that deals with engineering drawings (Manufacturers, Mechanics, Assemblers, Machinists, Technicians, etc.)
Everyone else interested in technical drawings
