ESET has released a new program, ESET SysRescue Live. It is free to download and use (e.g., no license from ESET is required to use the program).
ESET SysRescue Live is a standalone utility that allows you to create a bootable rescue Live CD/DVD or USB flash drive that you can boot infected PC's from to scan and clean them. It will even download virus signature database updates if a network connection is available. This new program has been in development for months, and is based on ESET's popular UNIX programs, ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Linux Desktops and ESET Cyber Security for Mac OS X.
PROGRAM FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS
As a new program, ESET SysRescue Live does not have a changelog, however, here are some of its features and improvements over the older WinPE-based version:
available as both standalone .ISO or Windows-based creator application
Windows application downloads and create bootable CDs, DVDs, USB flash drives
can create multiple copies
bootable live operating system based on Ubuntu Linux
can create multiple copies
contains additional utilities:
Chromium web browser
GParted disk partitioning and data recovery
MemTest86+ memory tester
remote connection tools for contacting ESET support
Windows application downloads and create bootable CDs, DVDs, USB flash drives
can create multiple copies
live CD/DVD/USB can be used on multiple machines, regardless of processor, chipset or network type
performs on-demand and boot sector scanning
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
ESET SysRescue Live is compatible with the following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows 8.1 , 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000
Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003 (x86 and x64), 2008 (x86 and x64), 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2
Microsoft Small Business Server 2003, 2008, 2011
*The bootable CD/DVD/USB flash drive may be compatible with additional operating systems, as well, based on hardware compatibility.
